Otto Fraus – photographer of Havlíčkův Brod
11.10. - 10.1.
The exhibition will commemorate the intricate fate of Otakar Fraus, a native of Litoho, who went through the first-war battlefield in Italy and then in Slovakia. He then settled in Duchcov, but from there he had to flee to the truncated Czechoslovakia in the autumn of 1938, specifically to Havlíčkův Brod. As a professional photographer, he always had a camera at hand and immortalized the historical moments he had unplanned. Thanks to him, the unique photographs of the occupation of 1939, the liberation of 1945, the Czech festivities in the German Ghost, the military exercises of the era of Czechoslovakia, etc. were preserved.
